Key Accountabilities
- Participate in the implementation and execution of bank’s AML strategy from Business support objective.
- Conduct operations related to commercial concealment transaction and account monitoring program, as per specified schedules.
- Investigate and assess alerts for commercial concealment risk of abnormal transactions or commercial concealment alerts.
- Ensure efficient identification and monitoring of suspicious activities and transactions of commercial concealment.
- Ensure timely, efficient reporting of suspicious transactions to the MLRO or DMLRO.
- Maintain real time knowledge of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practice, criminal typologies and developing trends.
- Timely execute instructions received from supervisor and MLRO.
- Assist with money laundering related queries/questionnaires received from Corresponding Banks and SAMA.
- Investigate, review and resolve AML related and economic sanctions related alerts and commercial concealment related alerts.
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to supervisor.
- Obtain documentary proof of abnormal transactions and ensure effective record keeping of CDD.
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
- Provide analytical, procedural and administrative support to the Head of compliance and to the MLRO and participate in the implementation of GIB’s overall compliance function
- Ensure GIB is in full compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes, as well as best practices.
- Refer to RM for further details and justification on AML violations closed with inappropriate information
- Support GIB business units by provide day-to-day guidance with respect to the preparation and review of KYC documentation obtained in line with SAMA requirements.
- Assist in categorization of customer risk assessment and due diligence and that such categorization is appropriately supported.
- Ensure that PEP and high-risk relationship are identified and due diligence as well as semi-annual reviews by RM, are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirement and GIB procedures.
- Assist in all aspects of compliance with AML/CFT regulations, including review and implementation of policies, procedures and guidance.
- Review daily Side Safewatch release and investigate cases of inaccurate swift message release.
- Ensure that the appropriate records retention procedures are in place and are being implemented for KYC and other client documentation, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in banking operations, accounting or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree is preferable
Professional Certifications
Committed to successfully completing the ACAMS Certification within one year of taking up the role
Experience:
3 - 4 years’ experience in banking with previous experience in AML, Compliance or Risk that would be an advantage but is not mandatory
Skills:
- Good understanding of the AML requirements in banking.
- An understanding of the banking industry, in particular the lines of business relevant to GIB Retail.
- Knowledge of current trends in corporate governance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English
- Good interpersonal skills as the job requires much interaction with other areas of the GIB Group and outside agencies.
