Maximize Gulf Air’s passenger & Tourisms numbers to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Specifically concentrating on selling Bahrain as an inbound destination of choice, as a package with local hotels in the kingdom. Focusing on revenue and sales plan, which will have direct control on the activities of the Sales force including growing tourism numbers set on the station target that is set each year. Selling Bahrain as a holiday destination of choice.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and expand business in the assigned area targeting passengers & tourism to the Kingdom of Bahrain on Gulf Air.
- Negotiate agreements and resolves potential issues or problems with clients and Travel Agents.
- Identify other opportunities to build/develop a MICE market in the Kingdom.
- Expands existing or current customer base by recognizing and involving top Travel Agents within the area.
- Develop business plans to maximize revenues set by the targets for that assigned country.
- Create awareness of all the products and services in the area to magnify market influence and generate future sales.
- Prepare, monitor and control budget to ensure compliance with set targets.
- Study market conditions to pinpoint new breaks or prospects and possible threats.
- Develop sales network and price structure to attain targets and increase revenues.
- Implement customer service procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Generate management reports for performance evaluation, this set on weekly, monthly & quarterly reporting. Including presentations to GF Management for station updates.
- Other administrative tasks may include some required budget assistance; payment processing, personnel activities, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure Gulf Air’s participation in sales campaigns and public events and collects sales leads for dissemination to concerned departments and feedback management on current market trends and demands.
- Monitor and follow up Travel agent’s productivity report and ensure the agreed incentive are being paid on time to the agents, to ensure their continued support which results in more revenue.
- Represents GF at trade events, promotions and sales functions, including supporting educational and familiarization visits.
- Sell Bahrain packages to increase the number of tourists to Bahrain with an expected KPI
Media & PR Assistance
- Work closely with the Marketing & Promotion Directorate in Gulf Air to develop and maintain public relations and communication campaigns which will generate positive media exposure of Bahrain as a destination targeting both consumers and travel trade within Bahrain’s targeted demographic
- The PR activity may include, but not be limited to media familiarization trips (both individual and group), press release dissemination, support at events and trade shows, general media liaison and meetings, crisis management and arranging high-level media agendas
- Trade, media and consumer response: Fulfill website, phone and email requests from travel trade, consumers and media, including brochure storage and distribution
- Social Media account:; the candidate to work closely with the Marketing & Promotion Directorate in GF to support content creation and awareness
- Social Media campaigns: Work closely with the Marketing & Promotion Directorate in GF to create, respond and manage social media campaigns articulated to consumer trends in the region
- Media monitoring and social media monitoring services
- Promotion of Bahrain through editorials and advertisements in trade journals and consumer media.
- Technical College standard equivalent to Diploma.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong systems literacy and numerical reasoning.
- Outstanding selling/influencing skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Strong knowledge of all products and routes.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related sales and marketing functions. The jobholder should have adequate background in the travel industry mainly in promoting, selling and driving tourists to a destination; to have a travel marketing background, hospitality sales or a similar field with good travel trade contact network in the targeted market as well as major airline business processes, preferably in reservations, ticketing, and CRS systems.
- Fluent in German language
- Candidates must hold EU residence and work permits
