Main Objectives
To advise, under the guidance of the General Counsel, on all legal matters in order to safeguard the interests of the Company both in Bahrain and across its international network.
Main Duties
- Draft, review and revise all contractual documentation to protect the Company’s interests notably Technical, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Finance, IT and HR.
- Prepare internal advice in relation to contentious and/or non-contentious matters, including regulatory and compliance.
- Assist General Counsel, and/or colleagues, with any other legal and/or administrative functions required as part of the running of the Legal Affairs and generally to .
- Assist internal clients on any other business that requires legal advise or assistance.
- Manage and monitor performance of external lawyers in accordance with all applicable procurement requirements.
- Manage litigation and ensure the Company’s representation in relation to claims from across the network in relation to passenger, cargo, commercial, HR and any other of the Company`s business.
Qualification - Experience
Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4-6 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or an in-house role, previous experience in the legal or contracts team of an international airline or having completed as secondment to a legal team in an airline will be viewed as an advantage.
Background And Education
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and strategic thinking is essential.
- The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with a current practising certificate.
- Fluent English language skills are essential and proven experience in drafting legal documentation, contracts and pleadings in English is mandatory for this position.
- Previous work experience in contract review and drafting in an airline or aviation environment is a clear advantage and any post-graduate certificates or degrees in air law, including aircraft finance, will be welcomed.
- The successful candidate must be independent and fully capable of running his/her own files and matters – with relevant guidance – from day one.
