JOB OVERVIEW
• The Graphic Designer’s prime responsibility is to develop and implement below the line marketing materials to include support to communications, promotions and Internal Communications.
• These will be executed both internally and externally, therefore the position must ensure all communication material adheres to the brand guidelines and values set by DHL.
• Duties will generally be coordinating the development and implementation of designed material. Including sourcing of copy, information, artwork and material needed for social media, newsletters advertising, direct marketing, sponsorships and hospitality.
• Requires coordination of internal and external resources in gathering this material and achieving specific goals may be required. Variety and diversity are key facets of this role which makes it the perfect vehicle to apply one’s creative flair in a dynamic business environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Produce designs concepts in line with sales and marketing objectives and in conjunction with Marketing Director and Direction.
• Develop designs and advertising in line with regional design, copy, branding and quality standards.
• Advise on most effective visual communication messages and most effective mediums and platforms.
• Develop smart and cost effective give-away ideas and designs.
• Ensure filing, maintenance and distribution of marketing material including competitor information and DHL literature.
• Study brand rules and guidelines both printed and digital and implement on all work as well as advise on ways to improve produced material across the region.
• Complete all finished artwork ready for print.
• Quality check all collateral.
• The end result of tasks completed will often be of an extremely public nature with both, employees and customers. This impact (or otherwise) directly affects customers perceptions and images of DHL. It is expected that ad hoc activities will be performed in a timely and effective manner, whilst also managing defined projects, which will be developmental in nature and longer term. Some of these will be, but are not restricted to:
• Produce initial scamps.
• Produce mock-ups if required.
• Design, production and delivery of internal Communications (BTL).
• Design, production and delivery of external Comms (ATL).
• Act as Webmaster.
• Manage and produce all sales literature as required.
• Identify relevant opportunities to capitalize on. This requires a level of “unconventional” thinking and alertness.
• Help DHL retain its market leading mantle in the MENA region this person will need to contribute ideas which are considered “firsts” and unique to the market and business.
• Balance the ad-hoc day-to-day activities and the specific long term projects in order for them to reach their desired goals on time and on budget, there is the need for excellent time management and organizational skills. The relationships will be broad as well. They may also need to be in contact regularly, with a myriad of external suppliers who require management and attention to detail in order to produce quality work.
• Lead all relevant projects and be viewed as the “bridge” between marketing in servicing all BTL creative requirements. This will require timely and effective communication of relevant information to help them do their jobs better. This person should also be viewed as the same for external communication to customers if required.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Must have at least 2 to 3 years In house Design Experience either client or agency side.
• Must have experience in conceiving and presenting ideas to piers and third parties.
• Excellent Mac/PC skills including extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to include, Quark, and knowledge of web based creative packages would also be advantageous to Marcomedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Java Script etc.
• Must be fluent in English and Arabic languages.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and long-term projects effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and deliver work on time and budget.
• Ability to understand briefs and follow guidelines.
• Must possess a creative and analytical ability.
• Able to work as part of a motivated team.
• Ability to develop good internal working relationships.
• Proactive approach, task and goal orientated, with a sense of urgency and commitment to quality output.
