Java/PHP Developer
Responsibilities
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support in managing the Moodle LMS for all stakeholders: students, faculty, staff, and operational entities
• Analyze current eLearning and LMS processes, procedures, and user requirements in order to recommend and implement Moodle best practices
• Undertake documentation of all LMS processes
• Perform research and provide recommendations related to the use of open source customizations and modules
• Administration and development of customized applications, themes, and modules using both back and front end technologies (PHP, Javascript, CSS, HTML)
• Mange and perform user and quality assurance testing for applications, systems, and learning objects
• Manage related site updates and content archiving, and provide technical recommendations
• Support implementation of multi-tenancy scalable Moodle Architecture
• Generate and analyze reports and statistical data on the LMS, associated labs and websites, and learning objects
• Develop project plans and follow through to implementation
Requirements:
• 3+ years of Moodle experience (samples of applications worked on are required)
• Strong experience implementing Moodle application/sites with deep understanding of modules, extensions, themes, and sophisticated CMS development
• In-depth experience developing PHP applications (at least 2 yrs.)
• A clear understanding of open source technologies and the systems concept
• Independent, self-starter, organized, no micro-management
• Excellent communication skills
• Effective in a fast-paced environment
